Kolhapuri Chicken
Discover the fiery and flavorful Kolhapuri Chicken recipe, a traditional Maharashtrian chicken curry made with bold spices and rich coconut masala. A must-try for spicy food lovers!
Ingredients:
500g of bone-in chicken
Two sliced onions
1 tablespoon of garlic-ginger paste
Half a cup of freshly shredded coconut
Two tablespoons of Kolhapuri masala (or a mixture of red chili powder and garam masala)
Two sliced tomatoes
Oil, salt, and leaves of coriander
Dry coconut, sesame seeds, and poppies are optional.
Instructions:
Poppy seeds, coconut, and sesame seeds should be dry roasted before being ground into a masala paste.
Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté onions till golden.
Add the spice masala and tomatoes. Cook until the oil separates.
Mix thoroughly after adding the chicken. Cook for ten to twelve minutes.
After adding water, cook until the sauce thickens and the chicken is tender.
Add some fresh coriander as a garnish. Serve heated over rice or bhakri.
